Installation and use

The BR series is a non-contact one-way wedge clutch, with an inner ring that can overtake at high speeds and stop reverse at low speeds. It is mainly used in reverse places. When used in transcendent places, only the inner circle can achieve transcendence. Its overtaking speed can be good, but the driving speed is very low.

If there is no JIS key, a flat key according to JIS B1301-1976 standard (new JIS) can be used. Please ensure that the key is immovable in the keyway. Loose keys will seal the clutch and cause damage.

When installing a one-way clutch on the shaft, please follow the procedure given below. Do not use a steel hammer to strike the clutch or apply any unnecessary impact load.

Confirm the rotation direction of the one-way clutch. The arrow on the inner ring indicates the direction of free rotation of the inner ring (the direction of cam disengagement). Please ensure that the direction of the wedge teeth is in accordance with the predetermined direction.

Gently tap the inner ring of the clutch in the circumferential direction with a softer copper hammer to slowly and evenly install the cam clutch onto the end of the shaft. Please ensure that the clutch outer ring is not dislodged.

As shown in the figure on the right, place one end cover on the inner ring and use mounting bolts to pull the one-way clutch onto the shaft.

Secure the end cap securely.

BR one-way clutch can work under any lubrication conditions, even with lubricants containing EP additives, but at this time, the fit tolerance must be reduced by twice.

When lubricating a one-way clutch, lubricant is added around the outer circumference of the inner ring (see installation legend), and excessive lubrication should be avoided as it will generate too much heat.

When using BR one-way clutch in the reduction gearbox, no special lubricant is required.

When installing end caps or sealing supports on the outer ring, use bolts with a tensile strength grade of 10.9 or higher. Use sealant or filling material on the joint surface to avoid leakage.

To be used in conjunction with bearings to withstand radial and axial loads.
